Another great trip learning about law in the arts at NBCUniversal

Thanks to our contacts at CMS, on 16th November we were able to take 21 of our year 12 Arts and Media students along to the NBCUniversal head office on Tottenham Court road for the regular Legal Insight Day. As ever, it was a resounding success!

Students were lucky enough to take part in a variety of morning workshops, where they focused on developing their CVs with the help of the HR team; performing a successful interview and the art of ‘selling yourself’; before turning the tables and conducting interviews for themselves, thanks to a group of willing lawyers!

The students later went on to unpick the ins and outs of releasing a film to the public, and discussed the legalities involved in airing TV shows to broadcasters, using popular show ‘Made in Chelsea’ as their case study. We finished off the day exploring the NBC’s media labs, where students (and adults!) were fascinated by virtual and augmented reality headsets.

Needless to say, students ended the day as better communicators, with greater confidence and heads full of new knowledge. Thank you NBCUniversal - we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
